She is pessimistic. First of all, she starts talking about all of the bad things about college. She asks the parents that in order to pay their children's way through college if they had to get here by greyhound. After the students get their diploma they will probably be in around $20,000 of debt from having to use loans, and will still have a hard time trying to find decent jobs. Some of the students will probably be living in cubicles and be working at Starbucks or Borders for the next 3 to 4 years until they can get their life together. She also talks about how the world is becoming less inhabitable and that our generation better raise hell because this is a matter of survival.

Hello current graduates. I know that most of you after you graduate are planning to go to college and get good jobs some day. But on the other hand some of you are just tired of being in school and can't wait to graduate so you can live at home with your parents for the rest of your life. Well you might not want to do that. If you ever want to get a good job in life your going to want to go to college and get a degree. Some companies won't even bother interviewing you if you don't have a degree, no matter how experienced you are in that particular field. If you don't have a degree the only way that you'll get a good job is if you know a lot of people that work in your field. People give their friends jobs all the time even if their friends aren't smart or don't have a lot of experience in the field.
The thing that I can't stress enough is to watch your student loans. Make sure that you pay off your loan as soon as possible. I know that some loans say that you have from 6 months to a year off after you graduate before you have to start paying it off, but 6 months can go buy pretty fast in the real world. After that amount of time you usually won't have the money to pay it off. Then you start getting constant phone calls from the loan company. If you don't pay off your loan fast your credit start to get bad. When you have bad credit it is sometimes very difficult or impossible to buy things. You may have to have your parents use their credit to buy you things, and that can be pretty embarrasing.
To avoid having to deal with loans you might want to make sure you do good in school so you can get scholarships, and you may want to get some financial aid. Make sure that the thing your majoring in is something that your going to enjoy. Don't major in it just because your going to make a tone of money or because your parent's told you to. Even if the job doesn't pay a whole lot you should major in it if you love to do it. So my only advice to you graduates is to get a degree, get an education, and be able to face the real world with smiles on your faces.

Google Book search lets you instantly search the full text of over a million digitized books, but they thought that wasn't quite enough.Now when you search you'll get both digitized book results as well as records for millions of other books that still just exist in the analog world. When you look at the newly added book records you can read reviews, summaries, or hear what other people had to say about the book. You can't preview the text online, but if you've discovered something great, they offer links to buy the book or find it in a library near you.
Do you think people will still be reading books in 10 years? Why or why not?
Yes because even if you can get a lot of information from books on Google Book Search there will still be people that want to open up a book and read it the old fashion way.

I would say that I read an hour in a half online per day. I currently read an average of one hour offline per day.

Yes because if she is stopping every 30 seconds to talk about a certain product that isn't even related to her show,people are just going to get bored and change the channel after a while. So people might not even watch the show at all anymore.

Based on this baised site people should stick with Windows if you are a hardcore gamer, if you work in the book/printing industry, if there is proprietary software you can't live without, and if your hardware is not yet supported.
One of the most compelling reasons to migrate to Linux is because Linux hardly has any viruses. Linux makes it very for it to get a virus. On Window programs you and any program that you install in it has the right to do pretty much anything you want to the system. This allows viruses to get into your computer and mess it up.Every time you request to do something that has to do with the system, an administrator password is required (and if you're not an administrator on this system, you simply can't do it). Viruses can't just go around and delete or modify what they want in the system; they don't have the authorization for that.
Another compelling reason to migrate to Linux is that you don't have to copy software illegally. Linux lets you install software for free, so you don't have to worry about getting caught by software makers. Software makers are progressing and finding more and more ways to track down illegal owners, and since more and more people tend to have broadband (permanent) connections, they might add an online functionality on the software that will control and verify your copy each time you launch it. If you switch to Linux you won't have to worry about this problem.
The third reason that you should migrate to Linux is because Linux always operates at the same speed. Windows becomes slower and slower each year because it has a number of design flaws in it. Reinstalling Windows solves the problem... until next time. With Linux you'll be surprised that five years from now your system will be just as fast and responsive as the day you installed it, not to mention that you won't have any viruses, adwares, trojans, worms, etc., that would force you reinstall anyway.

Programs that we use to use on old computers from 20 or 30 years ago don't even work on the newer computers.The gadgets that inform our lives -- cellphones, computers, iPods, DVDs, memory cards -- are filled with digital content. In about 10 or 20 years from now they will probably be lost forever because of the new technology that keep coming out every year, so it is our job to preserve them so that they don't get destroyed like the Library of Alexandria did.

While the increase in milk may be bad for consumers, it is a wonderful thing for the dairy farmers who got hammared during the 2006 spring drought. Ken Bailey, a dairy expert at Penn State University's College of Agricultural Sciences, predicts an overall 8 percent increase for whole milk, from an average of $3.07 a gallon to about $3.35 in October.

1. I think that a Blog would be useful for a large business because a blog can be view by everyone. So if a large business has a blog it would get a lot more service because everyone in the world can view it.
2. A web site would be better for a large business because a web site can be view by everyone in the world, so a small business wouldn't need it if it is only trying to reach a small amount of people.
3. An FTP would be better for a large business because since large business are usually country or world wide the people that work for the business would need a way to get information transfered to each other.
4. An HTTP would be useful in a large business because most HTTP sites have a search engine, so it would be easier for the customer to find what they are looking for.
5. Web services are better for large businesses because since large business's are usually world wide they would need a web service so that they could keep track of their business. A web service is something that you can use no matter were you are in the world.
6. A Podcast would be useful for both a small and large business because this would give businesses a way to communicate with everyone and each other.

The most important thing I have learned
1. Of all the things we've done this year. which are the most useful and important up to this point?
Of all of the things that I have learned this year I think that Microtype and Excel were the most useful. If I hadn't done microtype I wouldn't have learned how to become computer literate. I would never be able to keep up with you or the rest of the class. I would always be left behind. I found Excel very useful because it teaches you to be organized. You can lay out your whole financial plan on it so you won't ever be out of money when you are an adult and out in the real world.
2. What do you WANT to learn about computers in the last 9 weeks?
In the last 9 weeks I would like to learn a little more about computer animation. We did flash, but that was only the basics of computer animation. I think that it is cool how people can make cartoon characters and make them move also.

More video games, fewer books at schools?
It seems that fewer amounts of kids want to learn at school. Some adults think that video games should be added at schools because video games can present real-life problems to solve, and most kids are addicted to them. They are thinking of adding video games that are fun and educational, and not games like Doom or Mortal Kombat. They think that video games should be added that have to deal with businesses, money or the environment. They think that video games will inspire kids to turn to books and learn.

1. Was the developers behavior ethical?
No the developers behavior wasn't ethical because I don't think that it is right for them to an old lady into selling her underwater land to them. Then the developers try to sell her land for more then ten times the amount that they paid her.
1a. How can this be avoided in the future?
To be completely honest I don't think that this can be avoided in the future because people are always going to be hoodwinking other people to get them to do what they want. One thing the lady could have done was get a estimate of how much the property costed before she decides to sell it.

Detailed Description:
The ConnectivityServices team is looking for an individual who can assist in the setup, configuration, and support of secure network connectivity solutions between Oracle and our customers.
Maintain records of equipment failure and liaise with engineers and suppliers as necessary. Escalate client problems according to established procedures. Manage the network using network management tools, analyze network performance and discuss network enhancements with senior networking specialists. Analyze network performance to ensure adequate bandwidth for business needs. Recommend enhancements to the network infrastructure, and enhance proactive network management tool set. Troubleshoot network problems on the campus network, remote locations and countrywide area network though to resolution, occasionally with guidance from more experience staff, depending on the complexity. As a team member or with assistance from others perform project engineering including requirement definition, design of solution in compliance with corporate standards, implementation, testing through to production. Respond to monitor alarms to identify the root cause of an outage and coordinate the corrective action in line with existing procedures and practices. Provide on-call support services as required.
Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Completes own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures. Preferred Qualifications: 2 years relevant experience and degree/diploma in computer science or IT discipline
Participate in customer network initialization and troubleshooting calls.
Process OCCN and Array SSL network connectivity requests.
Responsible for Cisco and Array SSL VPN concentrator administration.
Involved in providing customer syslog reporting.
Respond to escalation support requests from frontline operations teams.
Provide problem investigation, configuration testing and troubleshooting analysis.
Assist with infrastructure (Linux/UNIX and Windows 2000) server administration.
Produce detailed and accurate documentation.
Assist in the development of training materials for Connectivity Service’s products and tools.
Participate in internal change control process.
Qualifications:

Movie Review
One of my favorite movies is The Pursuit of Happyness. It is about this guy named Christopher Gardner who was having a hard time finding a real job. Will Smith and his son play the main characters in the movie. Chris's wife leaves him because she is not happy and because they aren't making enough money. So he takes custody of their son.
Chris is being trained to become a stock brocker, and him and his son have to struggle while he is training because they are know homeless. Chris lost his home, and his money because the government took it from his bank account so that they can pay his taxes. After months of struggling on the streets Chris gets the job as a stock brocker, and finally finds a way for him and his son to survive.
This movie has a go for your dreams message, but the deepest message of all is family. I highly recommend that you see this movie.

Make Learning more fun
I would change the grading system. If you get 50% or lower you get an F. I would make it so that at every 20% you go down you get a different letter grade. If you get 50% you would get a C instead of an F. Students would be less worried about percents, and be more worried about just learning.

XM And SIRIUS Radio Merging
Is satellite radio going to make it?
No because the XM and SIRIUS satellites sound nothing alike. So if they merge it the satellite radio will probably not work.
Will the merger hurt or help the industry?
The merger will probably hurt the industry because first of all the company has already lost hundreds of millions of dollars in the past, so the merge isn't really going to help the industry at all. It would hurt the industry because the prices will be lower, so they would be making a little less money.
