Detailed Description:
The ConnectivityServices team is looking for an individual who can assist in the setup, configuration, and support of secure network connectivity solutions between Oracle and our customers.
Maintain records of equipment failure and liaise with engineers and suppliers as necessary. Escalate client problems according to established procedures. Manage the network using network management tools, analyze network performance and discuss network enhancements with senior networking specialists. Analyze network performance to ensure adequate bandwidth for business needs. Recommend enhancements to the network infrastructure, and enhance proactive network management tool set. Troubleshoot network problems on the campus network, remote locations and countrywide area network though to resolution, occasionally with guidance from more experience staff, depending on the complexity. As a team member or with assistance from others perform project engineering including requirement definition, design of solution in compliance with corporate standards, implementation, testing through to production. Respond to monitor alarms to identify the root cause of an outage and coordinate the corrective action in line with existing procedures and practices. Provide on-call support services as required.
Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Completes own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures. Preferred Qualifications: 2 years relevant experience and degree/diploma in computer science or IT discipline
Participate in customer network initialization and troubleshooting calls.
Process OCCN and Array SSL network connectivity requests.
Responsible for Cisco and Array SSL VPN concentrator administration.
Involved in providing customer syslog reporting.
Respond to escalation support requests from frontline operations teams.
Provide problem investigation, configuration testing and troubleshooting analysis.
Assist with infrastructure (Linux/UNIX and Windows 2000) server administration.
Produce detailed and accurate documentation.
Assist in the development of training materials for Connectivity Service’s products and tools.
Participate in internal change control process.
Qualifications:
Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage rapid changing priorities is expected.
Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
2+ years problem isolation/resolution skills preferred.
1+ year(s) of experience providing excellent customer support preferred.
1+ year(s) programming experience using Perl, Java, or shell scripting desired.

Experience with internal change control and documentation systems desired.
Understanding of network concepts. CCNA or similar network certification desired.

Job Requirements
Our preferred requirements for applicants are:
Be able to write well-documented C code.
Familiarity with code development on Linux and/or Unix, with Windows experience a plus
Be able to understand, design, analyze and implement complex algorithms.
Fluent in English.
BSs, MSc or a PhD Degree or equivalent
At least 3 years of programming experience, preferably with multithreaded systems.
Knowledge of MySQL or Oracle.
Knowledge of database technology.
Can work from a remote location
Additional preferences are for someone familiar with computer science theory underlying database technology and for someone that is self-directed, highly motivated, and able to work remotely from other team members. Added plus: familiarity with the internal architecture and code of either InnoDB or MySQL.
